Resource Center

Across Insight Net, we have developed a multitude of resources to help epidemiologists and public health officials from across the United States and beyond better confront infectious disease threats. These include modeling tools, trainings in analytic techniques, and analytic data sets and span a wide variety of geographies and diseases. This searchable database is intended to help people in and out of the network navigate the many resources available and better connect with Insight Net partners.

Note that details are still being collected on some resources, particularly data, and will be updated in the coming months.

Agent-Based Network Respiratory Virus Model

Agent-based network model of respiratory virus transmission, disease progression, and intervention. The model is modular and has been applied to counties, university campuses, and K-12 schools. For the general population (county) model three types of interactions are simulated: household interactions, social interactions, community interactions. The university model simulates residential interactions, classroom interactions, and community interactions. […]

Applied Modeling for Public Health (AMPH) Workshop

Series of in-person workshops aimed at building capacity in application of infectious disease modeling within public health organizations. These workshops bring together teams with important public health questions and data, and provide hands-on support through instruction and working sessions to develop simple infectious disease models to answer those questions.

Bayesian Transmission Model

Provides estimates for critical epidemiological parameters that characterize the spread of bacterial pathogens in healthcare settings. Parameter estimated: Transmission rate (frequency-dependent or density-dependent mass action), importation probability, clearance rate (loss of colonization per colonized person per unit time), surveillance test sensitivity, surveillance test specificity, effect of covariate on transmission (multiplier in relation to overall transmission […]
