MADMC has developed a template for their Midwest EpiView tool, an interactive dashboard that integrates vaccination, geographic, and case data into a set of interactive maps and tables to support public health analysis and outreach.
Midwest EpiView was originally implemented for measles response in Minnesota and has since been adapted for chickenpox as well. These dashboards are accessible online: MMR Coverage & Measles and Chickenpox (Varicella).
MADMC has now released publicly-available code as a template to visualize vaccine-preventable disease vaccination coverage and historical case data. The dashboard is built in R using the Shiny framework and can be adapted to different states, jurisdictions, and vaccine-preventable diseases. MADMC can provide technical support to other state health departments who would like to build an EpiView dashboard.
