The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) has launched a new online course on CSTE Learn: Working with Governmental Public Health Agencies.
This online course was designed with Insight Net partners in mind and is based on the in-person workshop CSTE held at the 2025 Insight Net Annual Meeting. The course is available at no cost, but requires an account on CSTE Learn or can be accessed on CDC Train.
This is an introductory level training course for academic and other non-governmental professionals from a range of disciplines who may engage with public health agencies on epidemiologic surveillance, modeling, and forecasting.

- Distinguishes roles, functions, and legal authority between federal and STLT levels in the U.S. public health system
- Introduces how data are used to monitor health of communities, emphasizing where modeling and forecasting add value
